A naturally purple-leaf cultivar bred for the Kenyan highlands and grown at scale almost nowhere else. The colour is real — anthocyanins, the same pigments as in blueberries — and it carries through to a soft, gently floral cup with a rounded tannin.
Brew it a touch cooler than the black and watch the liquor shift with a squeeze of lemon. The one nobody at your table will have tried before.
